For the first time in my working history I have found myself without dental insurance. I had a cleaning scheduled in October 2008 but canceled as money was tight. It costs approximately $100 a year and for that I save more than $100 on routine checkups twice a year. Any additional work is discounted greatly. If I had chosen the dental insurance plan, I would have paid premiums of over $400 a year. The checkups would be included at no extra cost, but any other work would be covered at only 50%.
